Prerequisite: ELEC 1100 or permission of instructor This course examines the fundamental concepts of digital logic. It uses the primitive logic functions AND, OR, and NOT implemented in integrated circuits to analyze and develop logic systems. The course includes the study of Boolean algebra and reduction techniques, exclusive-OR and exclusive-NOR gates, Logic families and their characteristics, and flip-flops and registers. The course emphasizes the use of these techniques and devices in microprocessor applications.(3 contact hours: 1 lecture, 2 lab)
