This course teaches true beginners basic Chinese language skills including listening, speaking, reading and writing. Mastery of 350 Chinese characters, basic spoken and literary syntax, pronunciation are key objectives along with an understanding of the cultural context of the Chinese language. Prerequisite: student must score into college-level English and reading on placement test.
