ETC 101 - DC Circuits

Institution:
Hudson County Community College
Subject:
Description:
The basic concepts of voltage, current, resistance, power, and energy are studied. The application of Ohm's Law and Kirchoff's Lawsto DC circuits and series-parallel circuits is covered. The study of capacitors and inductors serves as an introduction to the behavior of R, L, and C in a sinusoidal system which will be studied in the AC circuits course. The laboratory component includes the use of test instruments in experiments dealing with Ohm's Law, series circuits, parallel circuits, and series-parallel circuits. Proficiency in algebra is necessary for success in this course. 3 hours lecture/3 hours lab Corequisite: MAT 100
