3 Credits (0,6) This course is designed to give students hands-on experience working in a museum setting. Students will spend 90 total hours over the course of a semester at a local museum or archive learning the skills and practice of a museum professional. This course is aimed at students who might be considering a career or higher degree in the fields of history, art history, or anthropology. Students may receive exposure to such skills as learning how to handle, access, classify, store, preserve and exhibit documents, artifacts, art work, or other media, as well as the role of research and publication in the museum field, the guiding of museum tours and other related tasks.
