Considers the physical, emotional, mental, and social characteristics of the child at various stages of development. Views life stages in terms of a variety of theoretical frameworks: Freud, Erickson, Piaget, and representative behaviorists. Requires each student to do twenty hours of fieldwork and observation in a preschool or approved alternative setting.
