The laboratory portion investigates material strength and the intelligent use of existing references. In the lab, students work in small groups to conduct their own measurements of the mechanical properties of common materials. Uses microcomputers to analyze experimental data and prepare final reports. Two hours of lecture / three hours of laboratory. Prerequisite: MEC* 104. Corequisite: MAT* 175.
