(formerly BOT-H245) 3 cr. Prerequisites: "C" grade or better in BOT*H112, BOT*H137 or successfulcompletion of equivalency test. This course is designed as an introduction to and development of basic skills in medical terminology and machine transcription. Emphasis is placed on pronunciation, spelling, and definition of medical terms. Materials for transcription will be from case histories, hospital records, and medical records. In-depth training in the preparation and keyboarding of a variety of medical documents and forms is also included. Computers are used in the application of theory.
