This course is designed to help students to observe, interpret and assess children's behavior and developmental characteristics and to increase awareness of typical and atypical patterns of behavior, as well as to develop learning plans. Observation and participation placements are provided for the study of young children at the discretion of the coordinator. The students will observe and participate in an accredited center to gain experience in working with young children. In weekly seminars, students will focus on issues related to observing and understanding children's development. Students will a total of 60 hours, observing, documenting and interacting with young children in the classroom.
