Introduction to ceramics including throwing techniques, hand building, and clay as a medium for sculpture. The history of ceramics is examined from its roots as craft or utilitarian vessels, its significance as a surface for decoration, and/or narrative images up to its elevation as a contemporary art form. A $75 fee is charged for cost of materials. Offered Spring Semester.
