This course is the study of gross anatomy, structure, and morphology of the hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity and includes the study of the skeletal, muscular, circulatory, nervous, and glandular systems of the head and neck. It includes a study of the embryonic development of the face and oral cavity and the process of tooth development. Included is a study of the microscopic anatomy of teeth and supporting structures. Special emphasis is placed on the hard and soft structures associated with the oral cavity. Tooth morphology is included. 75 class hours. Prerequisite: Admission to the DentalHygiene Program.Corequisites: DES 1020L, DEH 1001, and DEH 1001L.
