Prerequisite: satisfactory completion of College Preparatory English (ENC0020) and College Preparatory Reading (REA0002) or appropriate placement scores. Focus is on basic biological principles pertaining to the normal operation of and the impact of man on environmental systems. Energy principles, computer simulations, and systems thinking may be used as tools for discussing public policy issues concerning environmental problems. Environmental issues unique to Florida will be used as a starting point for discussing more global problems. Lecture 3 hours.
