This course is designed to instruct the students in basic management of emergency medical/ pre-hospital care of the sick and injured. The course provides the necessary information and skills needed to recognize, properly assess and treat the sick and injured as a First Responder. The First Responder is a vital part of the pre-hospital, Emergency Medical Services system. First Responders are trained to reach patients, find out what is wrong, provide emergency care and, when necessary, move patients without causing further injury. These individuals are usually the first trained personnel to reach the patient. CPR Certification is required for course completion and is available at an additional cost. 3 hours per week. Additional fee.
