Subject:
Description:
Prerequisites: PLA1003 and BUL2241 or permission of the program coordinator. In this hands-on seminar students will take an in- depth look at the legislative process through the eyes of lobbyists, legislators, other elected and appointed government officials and their staff, public relations consultants, non-profit executives and reporters. Both the state and federal legislative arenas will be discussed; however, because of our unique opportunities in Florida's Capital City, the focus of our inquiry will be the state legislature. The seminar is for any student who would like to advance their knowledge about the legislature, who wants to learn to participate more intelligently in the democratic process, and who may be interested in working in the legislative arena.
