A survey of the history and aesthetic concerns of photography. Presents a way of looking at photographs and of interpreting and recognizing certain historical and stylistic elements in portrait photography, photojournalism, advertising, documentary photography, and the family snapshot. Emphasis is on the content and context of the works examined. No experience in photography is necessary, but experience is helpful. Two, 1 classes per week.
