Provides an understanding of the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment for children in early education settings. Topics will include classroom and toy safety, sanitation practices and infectious disease control. Health and safety components from the Regulations of the Massachusetts Office of Child Care Services, as well as the Early Childhood Program standards and Preschool Learning Experiences from the Massachusetts Department of Education, will be incorporated into course content. Prerequisite: EDU 104
