A brief discourse on the fields and functions of engineering, followed by an introduction to computer programming using C++ with emphasis on engineering applications. Topics are fundamentals of C++, including the binary and octal number systems, selection and repetition structures, arrays, functions, classes, class functions, input/output and pointers. Students will write programs to be run on the college' s computers. Prerequisite: MTH 104 2 class hours and 3 laboratory hours
