A prerequisite to all-clinical laboratory or veterinary science courses. Introduces routine nursing procedures such as correct animal restraint; routes of administration of medications; and the temperature, pulse, and respiration of both large and small animals. Presents the history and scope of the veterinary profession. Discusses breeds of small and large animals. A primary objective is to familiarize students with nursing procedures and the collection of samples in order to eliminate wasted time in later courses. Restricted to Veterinary Technician students.
