This course is an introductory studio (laboratory) course in basic painting skills and techniques. Focus will be upon the use of paint to create fine art and explore individual creative potential. Emphasis will be on control and proficiency in handling the medium of paint and learning the fundamental painting techniques. This course is designed for beginners with little or no experience of painting. Proficiency in drawing is beneficial but not critical to successful completion of the course. Prerequisite: ART 106
