This New York state mandated study surveys the criminal justice system and provides an in-depth academic and practical law enforcement experience. Students are required to learn, understand, and apply the requisite functions of a recruit police officer as required by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services and the Municipal Police Training Council. Such functions include, but are not limited to; juvenile law and procedures, crime scene investigations, critical incident management, counterterrorism, case preparation, interview and interrogation, arrest processing, civil disorder, injury and death investigations. 10 credit hours.
