Description:
Students will gain experience with 2- and 3-D wire frame systems approached through the use of a system such as AutoCAD. Students will build and detail parts selected from the fields of mechanical and manufacturing engineering. Students will create and modify line, fillets, chamfers, splines, text, and dimensions. Much of the course is spent on application of a parametric solid modeler such as Solid Works. Students will learn to create and sketch geometry and parametric solids. Students will also be introduced to detailing and assembly modeling. Emphasis is placed on establishing constraints that correctly convey the design intent. 3 credit hours. Prerequisite: MCT 1240 or equivalent experience. J spring
