Students will learn information on the historical and current classification of mental illnesses including the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM). Students will explore assessment techniques and beginning evidence based clinical interventions for various mental health populations. Students will utilize the DSM to analyze and diagnose an individual and identify the roles of human service professionals within the field of mental health. 3 credit hours.
