Introduces students to the care of clients with psychiatric and neurobehavioral disorders and addresses role dysfunction, competence assessment, and prevention, as well as assessment and intervention techniques. Emphasis is placed on learning to provide care using the occupational therapy process of evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, and documentation of care. Course information will be introduced through the use of lecture, case studies, small group discussions, field trips, and visits to area facilities. 2 credit hours. Prerequisites: OTA 1510, OTA 1520.
