Students are given the knowledge, skills, and abilities to defend themselves during physical altercations while staying within the proper force/level of resistance matrix. Defensive tactics, mechanics of an arrest, transportation of prisoners, and searches are emphasized. Demonstration of learned skills by students is required. 2 credit hours. Eligibility: Student must be current Chautauqua County Sheriff's Academy recruit. New York state certified police/ peace officer may be accepted with approval of the academy director. J occasionally
