(Formerly BIO 105/106) Human Genetics examines the basic concepts of DNA and normal and abnormal gene function in human development and life. A point of emphasis is the relationship between genetic material and environmental impacts, including radiation, chemicals and viral infection. Genetic engineering, birth defects, DNA fingerprinting, gene therapy, cancer and the human problems associated with these subjects are discussed.
