This course is designed to familiarize the student with health information systems in the non-hospital settings. Specific areas to be covered will include, but are not limited to ambulatory care, long-term care, home care, hospice, psychiatric care, and public health services. Health information functions, as well as quality assurance, risk management and utilization management will be covered. Prerequisite: HIT 101. Co-requisite: HIT 102, HIT 223.
