The course reviews descriptive and vital statistics, reporting requirements, definitions and formulas for computing hospital and public health statistics. It will include the management of health information in relation to data collection, analysis and presentation. Topics will include the collection, analysis and display of data for quality assurance, utilization review, risk management and reimbursement. Prerequisite: HIT 101 and HIT 103 (MAT 087, if required).
