A survey of French literature and civilization from the seventeenth to the twentieth centuries, examining representative works within the context of artistic, historical, and intellectual developments. Lectures and readings in English. This course fulfills the SUNY Gen Ed western civilization requirement as well as the Global Awareness requirement for the A.A. in Humanities and Social Sciences. However, it does NOT fulfill the foreign language requirement for any degree program.
