Designed for students who want to gain perspectives on the evolution and current state of marriage and family relations in the United States. There will also be a focus on alternatives to the traditional notion of marriage and family. Discussion of issues such as nontraditional relationships, mate selection and dating, gender roles, love and sexuality, family planning, separation and divorce, families in crisis, etc. Prerequisite: SOCS 106 3 credits (3 lecture hours), fall or spring semester These credits count towards the Social Sciences (list C) requirements for graduation.
