This course examines the art and writing that evolved into (comics.( Specifically, students will study how these factors work together in the new genre of graphic fiction, its development within periodicals and as separately published works, and its contemporary achievements. They also will gain direct and personal experience in how graphic fiction is produced. (5 contact hours: 3 lecture, 2 lab)
