Prerequisite: PHOT 1100 This course teaches students how to use Ansel Adams' Zone System. Students will conduct material and equipment tests to determine working film speeds and film development times. Students will learn how to determine any subject' s lighting ratio and plan appropriate processing procedures to produce exhibition quality black and white prints. Students must provide a hand held light in addition to a camera and lenses. (4 contact hours: 2 lecture, 2 lab)
