Description:
-
This course is an introduction to the American legal system, and the fundamentals of civil procedure. Through analysis of actual court cases, students learn the legal principles and the reasoning used in judicial decision making. In order to fully examine our judicial system, this course will also focus on the roles of judges, juries, lawyers, and litigants. The perspective is broader and more evaluative than that taken in most law school courses. Students will be provided the necessary skills to interpret and brief cases in subsequent semesters. 3 credits.
