This course focuses on the increasing diversity found in today's schools. It is designed to help prepare teacher candidates to teach and work with students with special needs within the regular classroom. It provides information about four groups of students from diverse cultural backgrounds, and students who are linguistically diverse. In addition, the course content will include practical strategies for adapting instruction to meet the learning needs of all students. Prerequisites: Education 200 or permission of the instructor.
