Prerequisite: FRN-331, 332, or 333 Survey of the major developments, both theoretical and practical, in French drama and poetry since 1913. Readings include plays by such representative dramatists as Giraudoux, Sartre, Camus, Ionesco and Beckett. Among poets considered are Valéry, Apollinaire, Ponge, and the Surrealists. May satisfy the pre-fall 2008 general education requirement in upper-level humanities. 4 credits.
