This course is designed to provide a series of advanced topics relative to the practice of Respiratory Therapy. This course will draw from the student's knowledge and treatment of cardiopulmonary disease and help provide direction for promotion of disease management. These topics include cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, smoking cessation, patient learning needs, ethical and legal implication of the practice of respiratory care, quality assurance and professionalism. Pre-requisites: Matriculation in the Respiratory Care program or permission of the department and successful completion of all previous Respiratory Care coursework.
