This course prepares the student for entry-level employment as a medical transcriptionist. Computers are used to transcribe hospital, medical office documents, chart notes and reports. Emphasis is placed on formatting, spelling, punctuation and medical terminology and abbreviations. Use of appropriate reference books is integrated and emphasized throughout the course. The following prerequisites must be successfully completed prior to enrollment: MA 555, MA 520, OF 112, OF 171, BI 150, BI 152, MA 565. F/S (N)
