This course offers students supervised involvement in an externship in various health care facilities. Through instructor facilitation, the student is introduced to the health care facilities' practical setting. Students complete the 160-hour externship program applying the administrative and clinical skills that have been learned during the first three semesters of the program. Students do not receive pay for their externship services. Preparation for the American Association of Medical Assistants certification examination is facilitated through an introduction of examination review books. Prerequisites: Successful completion of all MA, OF, BI, EG and MR courses listed for the first three semesters, or equivalent with permission of instructor. Co-requisites: MA 511, MA 590, OF 222.
