This course covers advanced subjects in manufacturing. Topics include review of processes, different method of cost analysis, QFD, forecasting, DFM, concurrent engineering, lean manufacturing, CIM, group technology for machines, production line design, assembly line balancing, production yield models, machine-labor coupling, job evaluation, selection of machines, labor, materials handling, storage and warehousing. The course also reviews some automation, automatic control and PLC programming. Concurrent registration in ME 201, or permission of instructor. S (N)
