Using NAEYC's principles of developmentally appropriate practice, students will examine development from birth through age 8 and the importance of the relationship between development and caring for young children, including children with special needs. Special attention will be given to developmentally appropriate guidance techniques at each stage. Students will also have the opportunity to examine and visit a variety of high quality early childhood programs within the community. Builds on concepts introduced in CC 200. Cultural diversity will be emphasized. Prerequisites: CC 200 or by permission of the department. F/S (C)
