Discusses the developmental needs of the infant and young child and relates them to the daily care of children. Nutrition, health, safety and common childhood illnesses will be examined. Special emphasis will be placed on the need to sensitize adults to the individual needs of the young child, the need for appropriate infant - adult relationships, the development of language and the need for quality child care situations. Course explores the influence of diverse family structures and the many behaviors of the growing child's personality and behavior. This course is open to students in developmental reading and writing. Prerequisite: None. F/S Cycles ( C, N)
