A study of the property and energy relationships in non-flow and steady flow applications. Topics include ideal gas relationships, real working substances, the first and second laws of thermodynamics, thermodynamic cycles, and available energy. The cycle concept is applied to steam power, internal combustion engines, gas turbines, refrigeration, and heat pumps. Consideration is also given to combustion analysis and heat transfer. Prerequisite- Corequisite Prerequisite: PHY 161 Physics I and MAT 160 Applied Calculus.
