Description:
A continuation of the basic study of manufacturing processes. The nature of metals and alloys, heat treatment, various casting processes and the processing of metals by hot and cold working techniques. Special topics include screw thread systems and their measurement, indexing, gear terminology and manufacturing methods, tapers and computer numerical controlled machining. Laboratory exercises parallel classroom topics and will provide the students with an opportunity to practice some of these manufacturing methods. Prerequisite- Corequisite Prerequisite: MET 121 Manufacturing Processes I.
