Description:
English reading and writing skills for non-native speakers at the beginning level. Introduction to basic reading skills and practice in reading beginning material. Focuses on sentence-level writing skills by using basic sentence patterns. Practice in writing responses to picture stories and reading texts, and in writing controlled compositions. Introduction to conventions of basic academic writing. (This course is not acceptable for credits toward a degree.) Prerequisite- Corequisite Prerequisites: ESL Placement Test Corequisites: Concurrent enrollment in ESL 003, and ESL 004, or Chairperson approval.
