This course will focus on the continued development and refinement of communicative competence. Critical areas such as orthography, vocabulary, and verb tenses will continue to be addressed. Further development of the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) will be achieved through authentic Peninsular and Latin American literature, grammar exercises, essays/composition, and individual/group oral presentations. Topics and issues related to the cultural and historical diversity among Hispanics, and the countries where Spanish is spoken will be presented. The goal of this course is to provide bilingual students of Hispanic background, who want to improve their formal knowledge of the Spanish language, with the tools necessary to use Spanish more effectively in both personal and professional situations.
