This laboratory and lecture course encompasses the study of optical principles and ophthalmic optics and includes handson lens and lensometry practice. It examines the theory of light as related to the use of lenses, prisms and optical instruments. Visual errors and the lenses used to correct them are discussed. Lensometry and lens verification is practiced in depth. Students will validate finished eyewear to meet all prescription specifications.
