Building on concepts introduced in Biology I: Science, this course will examine advanced topics in cell biology. Topics will include; cell ultra-structure, bio-energetics, metabolic pathways, cell cycle and division, signal transduction, molecular genetics, the cellular basis of cancer and stem cell research. The lab will introduce students to techniques in cell and tissue culture, cell separation, cytochemistry and microscopy.
