This is an introductory physical science course. It introduces students to the necessary concepts and fundamental principles for success in chemistry courses. Some topics covered are basic mathematics, units of measurement, scientific terminology, atomic theory, periodic table, chemical bonds, and an introduction to stoichiometry. Laboratory experiments illustrate the above topics and familiarize the students with the fundamentals of laboratory methodologies. (Credits do not apply toward graduation requirements).
