The student will experience a hands-on use of digital synthesizers in a compositional environment. The student will be able to define basic electronic music principles. Computer sequencing techniques will be stressed. Students will operate and understand various MIDI-equipped electronic synthesizers, and will also be exposed to electronic music literature. Students must be able to read music and have a general music background to take this course. Attendance at an on-campus concert will be required. NOTE: This course is offered in the Fall term only. (Prerequisite: MUSI 101 or permission of the instructor)
