This is a non-lab science course aimed at both science and non-science majors. It will familiarize the student with our weather and climate and the events that influence them. The course will also help the student understand natural disasters like hurricanes, northeasters and tornadoes, as well as problems resulting from human activities such as air pollution. Find out if global warming is a reality or a myth, what the difference is between El Nino and La Nina and should we care? (Prerequisites or Corequisites: ENGL 095 and MATH 021 or MATH 025 or passing scores in English and algebra on Basic Skills Test)
