Culture and personality is a subdiscipline of anthropology that deals with the relationship between the culture of a particular society and the personality of its members. In this course, issues of identity, development, and sex/gender roles will be discussed as they apply to small scale, as well as industrial societies. In addition, we will investigate, through readings, discussion, and a field trip, the ways in which culture and personality have impacted the course of historical events and culture change.
