This course is the introduction to the fundamentals of studio practices and painting approaches used in oils. Emphasis will be placed on personal expression as well as on an understanding of various historical and contemporary modes. Emphasis will also be placed on the development of the palette, color mixing and on compositions from still life. Studio sessions and critiques are on an individual basis. (Prerequisite: ARTS 111 or permission of instructor)
